In the 1740s, the plots of houses No. 48 and 50 along Bolshaya Morskaya Street were a single possession. A one–story mansion with a width of 21 windows was built here - one of the largest buildings in the district.
The present appearance of house No. 50 was acquired in 1874, when it became owned by the merchant G. A. Lepen. The reconstruction project was made by architect I. I. Tsim, he built it on the third floor.
In the 1880s, the poet A. N. Pleshcheev lived here. He was engaged in translations, collaborated with the magazines Sovremennik, Otechestvennye Zapiski, and Severny Vestnik. The young A. P. Chekhov also came to him here.
Now every guest of our hotel can feel the spirit of the epochs, climbing the ancient staircase framed by the original brickwork!

- A good hotel, daily room cleaning, fresh repairs, bed linen, mattresses, pillows are excellent. Friendly staff, everyone, absolutely everyone, friendly. Full breakfasts, buffet. They took 2 rooms, so they asked to settle nearby, settled) the rooms are clean and well-groomed, look fashionable, in very good condition, toilet, plumbing - everything is on the level, there were all the attributes for the hotel: bathrobes, towels, safe, kettle, decanter with cups and glasses, refrigerator, separate respect for the presence of an iron and ironing board in the room) there are breakfasts, but we did not try. An uncritical moment, but before the check-in time (14 hours), you can only check in for money, despite the fact that the rooms were free and they said on the phone a little earlier that it would be possible. - We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (26.06 - 29.06.22), rented a standard room. I liked everything, St. Isaac's Cathedral is just a stone's throw away. The hotel is very nice, modern renovation, comfortable bed, TV, slippers, bathrobes, towels, all shower accessories (shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, toothbrush and paste), ironing board, iron, kettle, cups and tea bags. Curtains perfectly protect from the bright sun when you want to sleep in the morning. The rooms have a common air conditioning system: in fact, in very hot weather, the room was pleasantly cool. The room was cleaned every day. There is a water cooler on the floor. There are breakfasts. There is no elevator in the hotel, but we were with backpacks and it was not difficult for us to climb to the third floor. I definitely recommend this hotel. Clean, modern, well maintained.
